Job Summary:

Super Micro Computer, Inc is currently seeking a Sr. Principal Engineer in the hardware security team who has outstanding security, server hardware and firmware design, and supply chain security experience.  The candidate needs a strong understanding of how to foster and deliver industry leading security in our storage and server products as well as the supply chain building those products.  The candidate will serve as the Product Security Technical Lead for Firmware, Software, and Hardware and drive alignment and development of Tier 1 product security across the Supermicro Portfolio of Server and Storage products, including Firmware, Hardware and Supply Chain.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed security risk assessments on Supermicro products.  

• Proactively identify product security risks and develop solutions to mitigate security risks. 

• Evaluate and recommend new and emerging security products and technologies. 

• Act as a domain expert and consultant for applications, systems, networks, and infrastructure security. Work to identify areas of security weakness. This could mean manual penetration testing or bigger projects that provide some automation for finding vulnerabilities.  

• Help engineers design more secure systems via design input or code review.  Stay current with trends in the security industry and identify technical innovations.  Help sales and customers understand Supermicro's product security capabilities and differentiation.


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline with 17 years of relevant experience; Master's degree will be a plus
• In-depth experience and knowledge of enterprise IT concerns and technologies, especially application level security, network security, encryption, authentication, PKI, IPSec, Firewall, SSH, SSL, DES, IDS/IPS, wireless, Windows security & administration, CCNA, RHCE, MCSE Experience using vulnerability scanning frameworks 
•Experience and expertise working in JavaScript, REST API's, PHP, Linux, MySQL and No SQL
