Job Summary:

Supermicro is currently looking for a Project Specialist to join our solution team.  The candidate is responsible to support the product management team on both pre and post-technical sales activities in the existing and upcoming projects. In this role, you will partner closely with product managers on qualification of required components, sample builds, test arrangement, processing forms, release of qualified parts, and customer engagement supports to ensure operations and production readiness.

 

This position will be based in our headquarters located in San Jose, CA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibility include, but not limited to:

  • Manage and take ownership of the whole component qualification process for each component from inception, testing, qualification, final release to production.
  • Follow up on progress to ensure sampling, test, pilot run to be at high level workflow.
  • Work cross-department to ensure customer satisfaction and timely resolution of issues.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, purchasing, and production teams to work with them to deliver the products and services meeting business requirements.
  • Manage multiple work streams under compressed timeframes and tight schedules.
  • Build engineering samples and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the robustness of the prototype for showcase purpose.
  • Create part numbers, structure, read and interpret complex Bill of Materials (BOM’s).
  • Manage and keep track of materials schedule, deliverable, logistics and shipment.
  • Work with related teams to provide accurate forecast for key component analysis

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or with equivalent experiences. A master degree is a plus.
  • Basic understanding in computer, server, storage, switch, and data center related products and the market
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suites and basic programming languages like SQL, Python.
  • Team player who enjoys a fast-paced environment and multi-faceted job responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and coordinate effectively with various functional areas and drive a task from start to completion.
  • Strong communication skill in verbal, written, and presentation
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently without supervision

• Able to sit for long periods of time.

• Able to input data into a computer and work with a computer screen for long periods of time.

• Occasional bending and standing.

• Standing, walking, sitting, talking/listening, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms.

• Lift, carry, push and pull up to 15 pounds.
