Job Summary:

Super Micro Computer, Inc. is currently seeking a Production Planning Specialist who is energetic and detail-oriented to support our fast growing organization. This position will be a member of the manufacturing testing team in the company's headquarters located in San Jose, CA. The Production Planning Specialist is responsible for planning and controlling all scheduling activities supporting assigned brands, balance production and inventory levels with demand to master scheduling requirements, inventory objectives, and capacity utilization/staffing requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Manage OEM project from setup through to developing and implementing production procedures.

  • Operate in multiple shop floor and MRP relate systems to ensure alignment between material position and production capability.

  • Set up and maintain BOM for all production parts. Create SOP for production operators.

  • Investigate production control problems, analyze root causes, and derive solutions.

  • Review production orders for proper time keeping, material issue, and BOM accuracy.

  • Maintain acceptable inventory accuracy levels through cycle counting, administer proper tracking and FIFO systems, prepare for floor inventories.

  • Overseeing and coordinating production activities to ensure everything runs efficiently and smoothly from planning to completion.

  • Develop process improvements for manufacturing and production control systems to meet business objectives.

  • Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, continuous improvement efforts to improve plant quality, delivery, and cost reduce.

  • Perform other work related task as required,


  • BS/MS Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering preferred, 5+ years relevant work experience withstorage component and system, server and hard drives industry preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing environment preferred

  • Experience in lean manufacturing processes, operations, inventory management, MRP.

  • SAP experience is preferred, but not required
