Job Summary:

Supermicro is looking for an experienced Software System Debug Engineer who has strong hands-on experiences in enterprise board/system with the capability of manage motherboard and full systems debug team. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge in Intel hardware architecture, ability to perform debug on motherboards with Digital VRM controller. You will be working with multiple validation teams to perform various tests on in-house board and system products, and provide feedback to design and system engineers for improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):

  • Diagnose the root cause of computer system failures and isolate the components/failure nodes
  • Respond on an as-needed basis to emergencies and provide remedy for catastrophic failure events
  • Interface with RD, System teams, and customer support to improve Supermicro products quality
  • Use python scripting to develop debug tools for server system to support RD team and solve customers’ issue
  • Using software to Improve testing techniques / procedures for analyzing system failure data efficiently

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineer or Computer Engineering with minimum of 3 years’ experience in related industry
  • 3+ years of C, C++ and Python programming languages
  • Proficient in Linux and Windows OS is required
  • Familiar with Intel ITP/DCI and Intel CPUs & Chipset  architecture is a plus
  • Strong lab and debug skills are required, including experience working with and analyzing output from test equipment such as the ITP, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzers
