Job Summary:

Super Micro Computer, Inc., one of the fastest growing IT companies in the world is looking for an innovative leader to fill the Manager BIOS Design position. The Manager is responsible for define and drive the overall BIOS design work as well as the BIOS engineer team based in our headquarters located in San Jose, CA. BIOS Design Manager will primarly coordinate the efforts of the BIOS interigations and initiatives while meeting all release criteria. A BIOS Design Manager must have a the technical knowledge and communication, so we expect you to amaze us with your superior technical expertise and a driven passion for Design and Development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


• Manage day to day UEFI BIOS development for server and workstation

• Plan, lead and give directions to the team to ensure the projects meet expectations

• Responsible for leading a team of engineers to perform server, workstation and desktop UEFI BIOS development

• Control of project schedule from design phase to production

• Direct the team of engineers to work on related Linux kernel development and device drivers

• Study computer motherboard and BIOS system specifications and configuration requirements to plan and develop reliability and compatibility

• Study and analyze the design specification and system housing to optimize the system efficiency

• Consult and coordinate with other engineering staff to evaluate the design specification and functions

• Facilitates plans and strategies based on product plans and road-map

• Demonstrates an advanced ability to translate product technologies into customer benefits

Qualifications:


• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering discipline

• Minimum 10 years related experience in BIOS development with minimum of 3 years in management role

• Excellent understanding of PC/server hardware architectures, BIOS, and drivers

• Strong technical communication and leadership skills to lead investigations with engineers of multiple disciplines

• Excellent communication skills and management skills required

• Demonstrates strong organization and planning skills

• Demonstrates understanding of how to successfully work in cross-functional organizations and impacts to schedules
