Job Summary:
Supermicro is seeking a Senior Power Supply Design Engineer who can lead the product design, review, and validation of server power supply and related products. The ideal engineer will not just lead a team, but will be a hands-on, and shall have 5+ years ITE server power supply design experiences, cover PFC, flyback, LLC, phase shift, power sharing, OringFET applications in mass production with records. This individual will be required to work cross-department and assist product managers as needed in product design and development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and develop high power/efficiency power conversion products (1Φ&3Φ AC-DC / DC-DC).
- Perform topology selection, simulation, and optimization (PFC, LLC, synchronous rectification, etc.).
- Conduct circuit validation, efficiency testing, safety compliance, and failure analysis.
- Collaborate with PM, layout, firmware, and production teams to ensure design quality and schedule.
- Research and evaluate new technologies (SiC / GaN, digital control, thermal design).
- Prepare design documents, test reports, and FAR.
- Support mass production, provide technical support and issue debugging.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
- Experience in power supply design (AC-DC, DC-DC, PFC, LLC, or related topologies).
- Proficient with test instruments such as oscilloscope, power analyzer, electronic load, and LCR meter.
- Experience in magnetic component design or validation is a plus.
- Familiar with power semiconductor applications (MOSFET, SiC, GaN) and driver circuits.
- Knowledge of PCB layout, EMI/EMC design, and safety regulations preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and teamwork
- Good command of English for reading datasheets and technical documents.
