Job Summary:

Supermicro is seeking a Software Design Engineer for their San Jose, CA headquarters. This role will be working within a team to design, implement and maintain our front-end of server management product. Candidate should be self-motivated and eager to satisfy customers' need by considering security, performance, optimization and usability in their designs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Networking switch management software architect and design
• Firmware or Software SONiC OS design, debug, porting, testing, and maintaining.
• Innovate advanced software management features including but not limited to new technologies.
• Work closely with the software and hardware teams to complete projects.
• The candidate must be motivated and thrive in a fast-paced teamwork.​​​​​​​
•​​​​​​​Well customer communication will be a plus.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Computer Science (CS), Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE) or related areas from an accredited institution preferred
• Minimum of 8 years' hands-on experience as a Software Design Engineer or in a related field, demonstrating expertise in software engineering. Switch software development for firmware or OS.
• SONiC OS experience is a plus
• Strong communication skill, able to work efficiently in a team and fast-paced environment
