Job Summary:

Super Micro Computer, Inc. is seeking talented Sr. Staff Firmware Engineer will be responsible for developing world class firmware to fully maximize the strong hardware architecture of in-house servers. We are looking for talented individuals who enjoy creating firmware for networking products, prototyping concepts, and investigating in new technologies. In this position, the candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design robust networking products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):

. Responsible for designing, porting, defining, developing, and maintaining OpenBMC firmware for GPU server systems, Standalone Server Systems, Blade Server Systems, Storage Systems, Rack systems.
. Work closely with the software and hardware teams to develop and integrate embedded code Kernel and Drivers in BMC.
. Work closely with the related teams to come up with a total solution or new architecture design and implement it in BMC.
. Design and focus components ownership and investigate critical issues and root causes.
. Design and develop new core technologies and participate in new product architecture design.
. Design and develop new BMC features and enhancements on Redfish, CLI, SNMP, VM, IKVM, WEBUI.
. Dive into and take ownership of critical design issues and work with cross-functional teams for debugging and troubleshooting issues.
. Bring up Intel, AMD, ARM, Ampere, and Nvidia server platforms.
. BMC Management about LAN, SAS, NVME, GPU and other AOC, CPU, DIMM., PCIe switch.
. Follow up industry standard management specification.
. Contribute to Opensource development.

Qualifications:

. A bachelor's degree in electrical/computer engineering or computer science is preferred, and an MS degree is desirable.
. A minimum of 5 years of working experience in firmware development is preferred.
. Experience in Redfish, IPMI protocol, ARMs processors, virtual media, and web servers.
. Experience in software or hardware protocol: I3C, I2C, USB, UART, PECI, MCTP, SPDM, PLDM, NVME-MI, NCSI, IPV6, HTTPS...
. Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python, with hands-on experience in embedded Linux development.
. Any knowledge of Intel, AMD, ARM server platforms, and system management architecture.
. Any knowledge of system management architecture and total solution.
. Any knowledge of firmware security involved.
. OpenBMC or Traditional BMC preferred.
