Job Summary:

Support our Global Service network and help build a world class field engineering organization. Supermicro is seeking a talented and experienced Sr. Service Engineer to play a key role in providing our customers with high level customer service, support our global service network and help build a world class field engineering organization. This position requires the ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends as required to respond to customer requests, diagnose problem, travel to customer site, repair and replace defective parts or system(s). As a Service Engineer, you provide the front line and escalation of technical issues, advice and support to customers in the operation and maintenance of complex Supermicro's products. You will also occasionally assist with installations, servicing and repairs of complex equipment at the same.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers, GPU systems, networking, and configurations in data centers.
  • Service replaceable components and diagnose issues with various GPU systems.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of escalations and assist with Linux support.
  • Work with managers to define service programs, share knowledge, and train new engineers on data center practices.
  • Travel to data centers to resolve customer issues and provide training.
  • Take ownership of customer base, demonstrate self-sufficiency, and effectively resolve technical issues in data centers.
  • Manage time effectively, work flexible hours, and drive to different data center locations as needed.
  • Generate meaningful reports and metrics related to data center operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering preferred or an equivalent level of professional experience.
  • Experience with BMC (IPMI, iDRAC, iLO etc…) Tools
  • Have a very high level of enterprise solution product knowledge (Data Storage types, Server, L3 Switches, Routers, SAS, iSCSI, FW, BIOS, )
  • Looking for experienced Service Engineers that have deployed and maintained GPU Nvidia Enterprise GPU V100/A100/H100 GPU. Acceptable are AMD M Series accelerator GPUs, and Habana. 
  • Must have experience with Linux OS – Terminal, Vi, Configure networking, OS installation, install drivers and packages. Can run basic scripts.
  • Will consider Associates Degree in electrical technology, electronics, or equivalent military experience
