Job Summary:

Supermicro is seeking a Software Design Engineer for their San Jose, CA headquarters. This role will be working within a team to design, implement and maintain our front-end of server management product. Candidate should be self-motivated and eager to satisfy customers' need by considering security, performance, optimization and usability in their designs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Bringing up SoNIC with SMC Switch.
2. Developing new SW features on 400/800G TOR for supporting production.
3. Developing new SW features for 400/800G TOR as part of customers’ support in their Data Center/Enterprise environment.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
2. 8+ years of experience in software development for Ethernet switch TOR.
3. Strong familiarity with Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols (e.g., VLAN, STP, OSPF, BGP).
4. Extensive hands-on experience with Ethernet switches, network protocols, and hardware-software integration, including experience with Broadcom, Marvell, or other new silicon vendors.
5. Proven experience with SONiC development and deployment.
6. Deep expertise in Ethernet switching technologies and network operating systems.
7. Strong communication skills with the ability to work efficiently in a team and fast-paced environment.
