Job Summary:

Super Micro is looking for a Software Engineer who will work on Server management applications that will be deployed by the data centers to manage server clusters. The candidate is expected to be self-driven, work independently as well with remote teams, and support customers on existing data center software applications. The ideal candidate should demonstrate understanding of data center deployments, and should be able to translate customer requirements into engineering deliverables. Broad knowledge of and exposure of system management software are essential for success in this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and leverage new technologies appropriately

• Responsible for demos and pre-sales support

• Work with the product management and engineering teams to identify issues and produce high quality products

• Proactively identify areas of improvement

• Meeting with clients and presenting design and architectural concepts

• Working with clients throughout the design process

Qualifications:

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in software development is preferred

• Minimum 2 years developing technical requirements and design documentation

• Minimum 2 years of recent enterprise platform engineering experience

• Experience with the design and implementation on server platform management solutions including:

• Experience with C/C++/Java Programming

• Working experience with server management software like IPMI

• Understand Web languages like AJAX, PHP, HTML/CSS, JavaScript

• Familiarity with XML (and adjacent technologies like XPath, XQuery, XSLT, SOAP)

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory domains

• Experience with Service Orientated Architecture or Web Services

• Experience with C/Unix and scripting

• RDBMS (MySQL/Oracle/etc.)

• Developing apps for Linux/Windows platforms

• Experience developing IT infrastructure management dashboards is a plus

• Good communication skills and flexibility to travel is a must

• Deployment on VMware platforms is a plus
