Job Summary:

The Cost Accounting Manager reports to the Senior Technical Accounting Manager and is responsible for day to day cost accounting activities in accordance with Super Micro's established policies and procedures. This individual will be responsible for overall accounting and costing functions, including audit and compliance with both internal policies and external regulations. Responsibilities require in-depth knowledge in cost accounting, manufacturing processes, GAAP and SAP best practices. A substantial portion of this position will involve participating in teams driving continuous process improvements within our team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain and expand the cost accounting process for the Company

• Prepare and direct the implementation of cost accounting methods and activities

• Analyze actual manufacturing costs, prepare periodic report comparing standard costs to actual production costs and maintain the standard cost system ensuring standards represent actual costs

• Prepare inventory and warranty reserve analysis and work with other departments for inputs

• Perform product COGS, variances and margin analysis

• Responsible for month end close in cost accounting areas

• Prepare various cost accounting reports for presentation to upper management

• Support cost accounting activities with Supermicro’s Taiwan and Netherlands offices

• Interface with external auditors and assist in external quarterly reviews and annual audit

• Participate in other accounting and/or management projects as necessary

• Supervise cost accounting team, including directing work, providing training and development and managing performance related issues

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting with a CMA/CPA preferred

• 7+ years of experience in high tech manufacturing industry preferred 

• Strong GAAP accounting and analytical skills

• Experience with major ERP software and SAP highly preferred

• Demonstrate supervisory and leadership experience

• Solid verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills to work effectively in fast paced environment

• Work effectively in a team environment

• Proficient computer user with advance knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
