Job Summary:

Supermicro is seeking an experienced Director of Product Management – Client Systems to lead the Client System team in Taiwan and drive the strategy, development, execution, and lifecycle management of Supermicro’s Client System portfolio, including AI PCs, business desktops, professional workstations, and emerging deskside AI computing platforms.
This position will provide leadership to the Taiwan product management and product development organization while working closely with global Product Management, Engineering, Architecture, BIOS/BMC, Validation, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales, FAE, and technology partners.
The Director will be responsible for translating market trends, customer requirements, and technology roadmaps into competitive products and scalable business opportunities. The role requires a strong combination of technical product leadership, people management, business acumen, NPI execution, and customer engagement.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in PC, workstation, or computing system products and has successfully led cross-functional teams through product definition, development, launch, mass production, and lifecycle management.
This position will be based in Taiwan and will work closely with Supermicro headquarters and regional teams worldwide.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Job included but not limited to:

  • Lead and manage the Taiwan Client System product management and product development team, including team development, resource planning, goal setting, performance management, and execution.
  • Own the strategy, roadmap, product definition, development, launch, and lifecycle management of Supermicro Client System products, including AI PCs, desktops, workstations, and deskside AI platforms.
  • Develop product and platform strategies based on customer requirements, market opportunities, competitive analysis, technology trends, and business objectives.
  • Translate market and customer requirements into clear product specifications, platform requirements, system configurations, cost targets, and development priorities.
  • Drive the complete product lifecycle from concept and business case through architecture definition, prototype development, engineering validation, pilot production, mass production, product launch, sustaining, and EOL.
  • Lead cross-functional execution with Hardware Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, BIOS/Firmware, Validation, Thermal, Acoustic, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to ensure product quality, cost, performance, and schedule targets are achieved.
  • Work closely with CPU, GPU, memory, storage, software, and ecosystem partners to align technology roadmaps and identify new product opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain competitive product roadmaps incorporating emerging technologies such as AI PC architectures, CPU/GPU/NPU acceleration, local AI inference, private AI, agentic AI, and professional GPU computing.
  • Work directly with enterprise customers, channel partners, strategic accounts, and regional sales teams to understand market requirements, identify new opportunities, and represent the voice of the customer internally.
  • Partner with Sales, Business Development, Marketing, and regional teams to develop go-to-market strategies, product positioning, launch plans, demand forecasts, and business growth initiatives.
  • Develop business cases and evaluate product investments based on market opportunity, revenue potential, gross margin, development cost, resource requirements, and return on investment.
  • Monitor product performance, customer adoption, sales pipeline, revenue, margin, inventory, quality, and key business metrics throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Identify product, execution, quality, supply, schedule, and business risks and drive appropriate corrective actions across functional organizations.
  • Establish scalable product development processes, operating mechanisms, and performance metrics to improve execution efficiency, product quality, time-to-market, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Provide executive-level product, roadmap, business, and program updates to senior management and communicate key decisions, risks, and recommendations clearly.
  • Mentor and develop product managers and technical team members while building a high-performance, accountable, and customer-focused Client System organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline; Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, system product development, engineering management, or related leadership roles within the PC, workstation, server, or computing industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading product management, engineering, product development, or cross-functional technical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of PC, desktop, workstation, or computing system architecture, including CPU, GPU, memory, storage, motherboard, power, thermal, mechanical, firmware, and operating system considerations.
  • Experience managing products through the complete lifecycle, including product definition, NPI, validation, manufacturing ramp, launch, sustaining, and EOL.
  • Strong understanding of current and emerging client computing technologies, including AI PCs, CPU/GPU/NPU architectures, professional graphics, local AI workloads, and enterprise computing requirements.
  • Proven ability to translate customer and market requirements into product roadmaps, engineering requirements, and executable business plans.
  • Strong business acumen with experience developing business cases, revenue and margin models, forecasts, cost targets, and product investment recommendations.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, sales, marketing, operations, and executive management.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex product programs simultaneously in a fast-paced global environment.
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical and business topics clearly to senior leadership, customers, and external partners.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of operating effectively with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
  • Excellent English communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams and customers.
  • Experience working with major technology ecosystem partners such as Intel, AMD, NVIDIA, Microsoft, or other PC and AI technology providers is highly desirable.
