Job Summary:

Supermicro Computer's Hardware Designing team is looking for an experienced technical manager with extensive board design knowledge to be involved in the design and development of motherboards - which is the core component of our server products. Through closely collaborating, our Hardware Design Manager will work with cross-functional teams to design high performance and cutting edge motherboards which build upon the fundamental of our data center products. In addition, the Hardware Design Manager will provide strong leadership and mentorship to ensure the team will shine under his/her leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):

• Collaborate with Layout Engineers, Validation Engineers, Firmware Engineers, Software Engineers, Product Engineers, and other teams to resolve any quality-related issues within the design to ensure and enhance the quality of the products

• Review and approves boards design and product testing

• Oversee the designing of new hybrid products and analyze data to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications

• Oversee the specifications, design schemes and project functional blocks, test equipment for new projects; Modify and enhance existing design

• Review and approve implementation of test plan, associated specifications, and hardware change processes based on overall system requirements

• Manage and oversee a hardware design team of 10 - 15 members, provide technical supports and leadership for the team members

Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master's degree in electrical engineering with 10 years of experience on server boards design preferred; backplane design experience is a plus

• At least 3 years of experience in management role in IT industry and/or corporate environment preferred

• Technical proficiency and in-depth knowledge of circuit design and computer architecture

• Comprehensive knowledge on the PCB layout, debugging tools and software, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.

• Quick learning and outstanding problem-solving and debug capabilities; Excellent working quality and productivity

• Excellent team working capabilities and strong communication skills, demonstrate strong leadership

• Self-motivated and enthusiastic on working in fast-paced environment
