Job Summary:
Supermicro Computer's Hardware Designing team is looking for an experienced technical manager with extensive board design knowledge to be involved in the design and development of motherboards - which is the core component of our server products. Through closely collaborating, our Hardware Design Manager will work with cross-functional teams to design high performance and cutting edge motherboards which build upon the fundamental of our data center products. In addition, the Hardware Design Manager will provide strong leadership and mentorship to ensure the team will shine under his/her leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
• Lead a team responsible for board and circuit design, from proof of design to mass production
• Work with cross functional teams -- collaborate with Layout Engineers, Validation Engineers, Firmware Engineers, Software Engineers, Product Engineers, and other teams to resolve any quality-related issues of design to ensure and enhance the quality of the products
• Reviews and approves design and product testing
• Oversees the designing of new hybrid products and analyze data to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications
• Oversees the specifications, design schemes and project functional blocks, test equipment for new projects. Modify and enhance existing design
• Reviews and approves implementation of test plan, associated specifications, and hardware change processes based on overall system requirements
Qualifications:
• BSEE or MSEE is preferred
• Minimum 10 years of experience on board-level design with at least 3 years of management experience preferred
• In-depth knowledge of circuit design and computer architecture
• Comprehensive knowledge on the PCB layout, debugging tools and software, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.
• Excellent team working capabilities and strong communication skills, able to lead the team to achieve
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic on working in fast-paced environment
• Experienced in Linux OS shell and (script) automatic testing is a plus
• Strong electrical engineering background in analog and mixed-signal design, especially board-level circuits
