Job Summary:

Supermicro is currently seeking for a buyer with experience in computer component procurement. The primary responsibilities will be to forecast and execute procurement of CPUs and interface with Program Managers/Sales to support production and meeting customer delivery schedule. A successful candidate is a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and resourceful individual with great interpersonal and communicational skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Relationship Enhancement and Product Handling:

This role will assume a pivotal role in managing the Nvidia (Mellanox) network product line, which includes the Switch, AOC, and transceiver product families,

as well as the ODM network product line. This role tasks will involve inventory management, purchase order planning, and oversight of delivery schedules.

 

  • Procurement Strategy & Schedule Management:

This role's responsibilities will encompass overseeing the product purchase order process, both internally and externally.

Central to this role will be the management of inventory levels, delivery schedules, and fulfillment.

Previous experience collaborating with Contract Manufacturers (CM) for ODM business will be considered a PLUS.

  • Product Promotion and Process Modeling:

       In this role capacity as a product manager, this role will monitor production run rates and implement promotional strategies to enhance the sales volume of this role product line.
      Leveraging this role's product management expertise, this role will identify potential bottlenecks and take proactive ways to mitigate production delays & revenue generation.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree plus 7 years of experience in a related technical or business field or 3 years of experience in a target technical or business field.
  • Excellent knowledge of purchasing
  • Good knowledge of Supply Chain Management (SCM).
  • Demonstrated effective advanced computer skills.
  • Effective communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in writing product and customer requirements and using qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize decision-making.
