Job Summary:
Super Micro Computer, Inc. is seeking talented Sr. Firmware Engineer will be responsible for developing world class firmware to fully maximize the strong hardware architecture of in-house servers. We are looking for talented individuals who enjoy creating firmware for networking products, prototyping concepts, and investigating in new technologies. In this position, the candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design robust networking products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Response for designing, porting, developing, debugging and maintaining BMC/IPMI related software and firmware for Server System.
2. Work closely with the software and hardware teams to develop and integrate embedded code.
3. Develop RESTful API, SNMP, HTML5, iKVM, Virtual Media and other remote access interfaces.
4. Develop new features, Redfish upgrade, Intel related features for x14.
5. Responsible for platform hardware controlling and monitoring e.g., motherboard, backplane, M.2, U.2, NVME, HDD, SAS controller, LAN add-on card, OCP card and other components management.
6. The candidate must be motivated and thrive in a fast paced and team-oriented environment.
Qualifications:
1. A Master's degree in CS, EE, or other engineering fields with 5+ years of industry experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of industry experience, is preferred.
2. Satisfying at least one of the following experiences is preferred, and meeting more is a plus:
Embedded or Linux development, including U-Boot, Kernel, drivers, and Filesystem. Familiarity with industry protocols such as IPMI, Redfish, SNMP, I2C, SPI, IPMB, KCS, RGMII, HTTPS, LDAP, SMTP, NTP, MCTP, PCIe, USB, NVMe-MI, Storlib, JTAG, JSON, XML, etc. Experience with ARM TrustZone. Experience with x86 Intel or AMD server systems.
