Job Summary:
Supermicro is seeking a Staff power design engineer, who will be responsible for the full lifecycle of the product, from initial schematic stage, to layout, to validation, tuning and feedback for improvement plans. The core responsibility is to focus on power delivery quality and the long-term stability of each component on each power rails. The ideal candidate will need to have a sharp eye and curiosity to find potential issues from the ordinary routine.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Responsible for schematics capture, layout check, BOM creation, debugging and testing of power portion on motherboard/add-on card/ backplane products.
2. Collaborate with layout engineers, validation engineers, firmware engineers, product engineers and other teams to discover and solve any engineering issues in early stage to ensure and enhance the quality of the products.
3. Familiar Intel and AMD platform power delivery design.
4. Create fluent technical documentation including power specifications, power components placement, layout instructions, test procedures, etc.
5. Resolve complicated issues and work on critical engineering problems.
6. Base with multi-phase voltage regulator design knowledge and tuning with digital controller.
7. Transfer products to manufacturing with clear documentation, and help C.M. and technical support to solve problems.
8. Project maintenance.
Qualifications:
1. BSEE or MSEE, with 9+ years of DC to DC converter design, debugging, troubleshooting, and testing experience is preferred
2. EE of Junior college background, with 10+ years of DC to DC converter design, debugging, troubleshooting, and testing experience is preferred
3. Knowledge and experience for EMI and ESD design.
4. Knowledge and experience for Allegro & ORCAD design tool.
5. Communication in English and Chinese.
6. Deeply familiar with x86 system architecture is better.
7. Self-motivated, team player with ability to work in fast-paced environment.
8. Hardworking and responsible.
