Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance: Manage and oversee the preparation and filing of all Taiwan tax returns, including corporate income tax, transaction tax such as sales tax, or VAT/, and other indirect taxes.
  • Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize our tax position in Taiwan, including advising on efficient tax structures and transactions.
  • Transfer Pricing: Lead transfer pricing documentation efforts, ensuring compliance with Taiwan regulations and global policies.
  • Tax Advisory: Provide expert tax advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on business transactions, restructuring initiatives, and other tax-related matters.
  • Tax Audits and Disputes: Manage tax audits and disputes with Taiwan tax authorities, working closely with external advisors as needed to resolve issues.
  • Monitor Regulatory Changes: Stay abreast of changes in Taiwan tax laws and regulations, assessing their impact on our business and recommending proactive measures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field. CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in tax compliance, advisory, and planning roles, with a focus on Taiwan taxation. Experience in a multinational company or Big 4 accounting firm is strongly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of Taiwan tax laws and regulations, including proficiency in corporate income tax, VAT, transfer pricing, and withholding taxes.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across functions and regions.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, capable of understanding complex tax issues and providing practical solutions.
  • Hands-on experience in managing tax audits and disputes, demonstrating a track record of successful resolutions.
  • Strong project management skills, able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
