Job Summary:

Supermicro has an exciting opportunity for a well-rounded techinical Leader to join our Field Application Engineering organization. As Director, FAE, you will be responsible for leading a team of dedicated FAE’s providing technical guidance, configuration support and facilitating roadmap discussions with current & potential new enterprise, cloud service provider accounts and partners. This role is both outbound and inbound. Outbound, where you will be helping sales organizations in understanding customer’s requirements, proposing hybrid cloud solutions and configurations, evangelizing Supermicro’s solutions and more importantly act as a liasion between Sales and Customers for successful deployment. Inbound, where you will be championing and rooting for implementation of new features to internal engineering stakeholders for greater acceptance of Supermicro’s products and translate customer’s requirements into features. Knowledge of x86 computing, deep technical fundamental understanding of storage, networking & hybrid cloud technologies and infrastructure as a service required.   A very satisfying role that provides ample opportunities to use the skills possessed but more importantly will challenge you to learn new skills. This position will be home-based in Germany

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Management, and Operation teams to map end-user customer business, partner requirements and provide most optimized technical solutions
  • Provide technical leadership in Pre-Sales and oversee implementation of such solutions
  • Highly technical problem solver who understands system architecture, hardware and software interaction
  • Manage and lead product HW and SW engineers during product development
  • Manage and lead teams during investigation and resolution of problems in the field
  • Develop and review systems solutions, technical bid responses and presentations
  • Design and implement customer solutions with products and available platforms, both on and off roadmap
  • Lead trainings on market technology, focus on customer needs and requirements
  • Work cross-departments to ensure customer satisfaction and timely resolution of issues
  • Build and demonstrate proof-of-concept that meets or exceeds customer business needs
  • Present the corporate brand, product messaging and solutions to customers
  • Visit on-site facilities and operations to enable solution integration and issue resolution
  • Gather business and application requirements from the customer, including forward interaction and promotion of Supermicro products

Qualifications:


• Bachelor’s degree and MBA preferred

• Strong background and proven skills  in High Performance Computing projects

• Minimum 10+ years’ experience in a server environment

• Result-oriented and solid work ethic

• Solid verbal and written communication skills, executive presentation, and judgment

• Demonstrated ability to lead / guide a team of Technical professionals

• Ability to prioritize and manage competing tasks in fast-paced environment

• Strong negotiation, presentation skills

• Must be willing to utilize self-admin skills as needed

• Strong command of the German and English language; proficiency in 3nd language is a plus

• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time or as needed
