Job Summary:

We are looking to expand our current team in the service department for our branch in the Netherlands (s-'Hertogenbosch). Supermicro has been a household name in the field of Motherboards, Servers and total solutions for more than 30 years, where we provide service to major customers in various industries on the basis of service contracts.


About the position:
As an Associate Solution Engineer you will be part of the Supermicro Global Service Installation Team and help build a world-class service organization. Carrying out racking and installation of server hardware, network equipment and cable routing of copper/fiber optic cables. You provide technical support for installed equipment with regard to hardware and software functionalities. You report to and assist the Solutions manager in the daily business and are also part of the service desk team that works on service tickets. You also assist with customer contact and carrying out hardware break fixes on location at customers. It is a fulltime function which you are in the office 5 days per week. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support day to day activities, including physical installation, rack and stack, cabling and networking of data center hardware.
  • Assist/support in the implementation of server, storage and network equipment, following established procedure.
  • Support the engineering team to ensure hardware is installed correctly according to specifications.
  • Coordinate with the engineering team to ensure seamless integration of hardware solutions.
  • Assist the team to perform quality checks and test functionality after installation.
  • Provide first-line technical support to end users via telephone, email and ticketing system.
  • Provide first level of support to incident tickets (per SLA).
  • Help process RMA request whenever needed.
  • Refer complex issues to higher level support teams when necessary.
  • Participate in on-site activities, including international travel to carry out installations at customers or solve problems in data centers.
  • Flexible to occasionally support work outside regular hours.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience or military background also considered.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience supporting and maintaining complex server, storage, and networking environments.
  • Deep technical knowledge of GPU platforms, BIOS/UEFI, storage protocols (SAS/iSCSI), Layer 3 switches, routers, and firmware configurations.
  • Proven field experience in break/fix support, with an emphasis on customer interaction and service delivery.
  • Familiar with both Windows and Linux operating environments; certifications are a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, including hardware diagnostics and software-related issue analysis.
  • Proficiency with BMC tools such as SMC IPMICFG and SUM (or equivalent like iLO/iDRAC).
  • Excellent communication, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cross-functional projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
  • Capable of speaking and writing both English and Arabic languages.
  • Familiarity with basic Linux navigation is required.
  • Maintain flexibility for shift work, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
  • Ideally holds a valid driving license for travel within Europe.
