Job Summary:

Supermicro Computer is looking for an experienced Business Development Director who can help grow our market share. The ideal candidate must be able to step in and sell Supermicro's product portfolio into targeted vertical markets, build and manage individual resources and thrive in a challenging environment. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):

  • Job specific tasks and duties. Design, implement and drive robust & creative growth plans that meet/exceed new business targets and customer retention objectives with the Sales Account teams
  • Responsible for building a team of professionals over time leading growth initiatives and driving performance and services excellence expectations. 
  • Maintain key customer relationships and develop and implement strategies for expanding the customer’s base/business, supporting Sales teams 
  • Continuously seek new opportunities to improve team performance and effectiveness. 
  • Analyze performance of team members on an ongoing basis to identify opportunities for performance improvement and ensure accountabilities are being met.
  • Establish monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals with team members.
  • Maintain comprehensive and current knowledge of all sales activities, forecast opportunities, and available pipeline;
  • Ensure team staff provide excellent support to customer in fulfillment including forecast, inventory control, allocations, ETA and backlog management.
  • Successfully visit, manage relationships with customers, help identify opportunities and improve sales and marketing strategies in selling Supermicro products;​​​​​​​

Qualifications:

 
  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree in Business or Management related is a plus
  • Minimum 15 years of sales experience in computer, server, or hardware industry is preferred
  • Experience working with C-level executives in large Fortune companies and VAR’s/SI’s 
  • Deep knowledge in server, storage and management solutions, knowledge in Cloud data centers and the enterprise IT environment.
  • Great leadership and strong ability of working with and managing people from different groups
  • Strong communication skills across multiple disciplines, cultures, and geographies
  • Great analytic skills in market and industry research, constant drive to grow and passion to learn!
  • Sense of humor

 

Salary Range

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
