Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Production Engineer with experience in manufacturing, particularly in the electronics or high-tech sector. This role focuses on optimizing production processes, troubleshooting equipment issues, and driving operational excellence while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1. Production Line Support

  • Provide end-to-end support for rack production, including reviewing BOMs, eFAI documentation, work instructions, scan lists, and build requirements prior to assembly.
  • Deliver first-line technical support during rack assembly (PDU installation, cable routing, labeling, scanning, packing, and production handover).
  • Act as the main escalation point for technical and operational issues during assembly.
  • Ensure smooth production flow by resolving build issues and minimizing downtime.

 

2. Team Supervision

  • Lead and supervise daily rack assembly operations, ensuring adherence to production plans and timelines.
  • Monitor team performance and productivity, providing coaching and feedback.
  • Conduct daily meetings (shift handovers, stand-ups) to communicate priorities and updates.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Engineering, Warehouse, and Project teams.

 

3. Process Optimization

  • Analyze and improve rack assembly processes to enhance efficiency, reduce rework, and ensure quality output.
  • Develop and implement checklists, best practices, and updated work instructions.
  • Support operator training initiatives to improve consistency and productivity.
  • Identify risks, gaps, and bottlenecks during first-build and pilot-build phases to optimize production ramp-up.

 

4. Equipment & Assembly Troubleshooting

  • Perform basic preventive maintenance on assembly tools, equipment, and rack build stations to ensure operational readiness.
  • Identify and report equipment faults, coordinating with maintenance or engineering teams for timely resolution.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to rack assembly, including hardware installation and integration problems.
  • Support calibration, inspection, and upkeep of assembly tools and test equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment used in production is safe, functional, and compliant with standards.

 

5. Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Monitor and track quality issues, ensuring adherence to production and quality standards.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to address defects and improve output quality.
  • Support audits, validations, and internal/external inspections.

 

6. Documentation & Reporting

  • Review and maintain accurate production documentation including BOMs, work instructions, and assembly guidelines.
  • Update and improve technical documentation, checklists, and procedures.
  • Report production status, quality issues, and improvement actions to relevant stakeholders.

 

7. Inventory & Resource Management

  • Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to ensure availability of required materials and components.
  • Address material discrepancies and shortages impacting production.

 

8. Safety & Environmental Compliance

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and production procedures.
  • Promote a culture of safety and operational discipline.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 1 years of server integration, test, validation and troubleshooting experience, or IT hands on experience preferred.
  • Be able to perform moving servers and rack installation, including manual handling and working in a standing position. 
  • Previous experience in optimizing production processes and working with cross functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control principles.
  • Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) preparation know-how.
  • Rack system integration includes mounting servers, switches, PDU, cables, and labeling. 
  • Rack system test includes configuration of servers, switches, whole rack system test and trouble shooting.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, or similar continuous improvement methodologies, is a plus.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis, etc.). Experience with analytical tools/software such as Power BI, or other statistical analysis programs is a plus.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities to identify and address production issues quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with production operators, technicians, and cross functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple tasks with a proactive approach.
  • Willingness to occasionally provide support beyond regular working hours in case of production emergencies.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards and safety protocols.
