Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Manager, Trade Compliance to lead and enhance our global trade compliance framework. This role is responsible for ensuring full compliance with US, EU, and international trade regulations, overseeing export/import policies, managing risk assessments, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to drive best practices. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in trade compliance, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to risk management in a fast-paced, multinational organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain global trade compliance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with US, EU, and international regulations.
- Provide regulatory guidance on import/export operations, licensing, documentation, and classification requirements.
- Monitor and assess evolving trade laws, sanctions, and embargoes, ensuring compliance and evaluating their impact on business operations.
- Lead and manage third-party screening programs, ensuring due diligence and regulatory adherence.
- Oversee export control classifications for goods, technology, and software, advising business units on compliance requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address trade compliance vulnerabilities.
- Perform internal audits and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to trade policies, procedures, and global regulations.
- Enhance ERP and business systems with trade compliance solutions, including drafting business requirements and conducting system testing.
- Provide comprehensive training on trade compliance, sanctions, and export control policies to key business stakeholders.
- Act as a primary liaison with customs authorities, logistics providers, brokers, and government agencies to resolve trade compliance issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, supply chain, logistics, and IT, to integrate compliance into business operations.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, with an advanced degree preferred. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
- A minimum of 10+ years of direct experience in global trade compliance is required, preferably within the semiconductor or technology industry.
- Extensive expertise in US, EU, and global trade regulations, including Customs Regulations, Valuation policies, Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and sanctions laws.
- Proficiency in SAP GTS is highly desirable, with the ability to integrate compliance solutions into business systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate trade compliance risks.
- Proven leadership and cross-functional collaboration abilities, capable of influencing stakeholders across global teams.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex compliance requirements for various audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Teams, Excel, Visio), with experience in process documentation and compliance workflows.
- A detail-oriented, strategic thinker who can adapt to regulatory changes, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
