Job Summary:
Supermicro Computer, Inc. is seeking a results-driven Sales Director for a revenue-focused hunter role, dedicated to acquiring new enterprise customers and expanding Supermicro’s presence across key enterprise verticals. This individual will play a critical role in driving top-line growth by supporting the channel ecosystem—including Value-Added Resellers (VARs) and Global Systems Integrators (GSIs)—to generate incremental revenue with both new and existing end users.
We're looking for a polished professional who not only possesses exceptional communication and relationship-building skills but also consistently projects a professional image, capable of confidently engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including the C-suite. Through proactive sales efforts and close channel collaboration, the Sales Director will identify, develop, and close new business opportunities while accelerating Supermicro’s impact in the enterprise market.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities across assigned regions and key verticals, including Healthcare & Life Sciences, Financial Services, Retail, Data Centers/Cloud, Manufacturing, and HPC
- Create and execute account and territory plans, including curated target lists by vertical and partner type
- Drive pipeline growth by developing and nurturing relationships with enterprise customers, VARs, GSIs, and other key channel partners
- Engage with C-level executives and senior decision-makers to understand business needs and position Supermicro’s value effectively
- Support and enable channel partners (VARs/GSIs) to expand footprint within existing accounts and generate incremental revenue
- Represent customer and market feedback internally to influence product, pricing, and go-to-market strategy
- Collaborate cross-functionally across internal departments to align on solution delivery and ensure customer satisfaction
Operational Responsibilities:
- Conduct outbound prospecting efforts, including cold calls and targeted outreach to VARs, OEMs, and potential end users
- Qualify and manage opportunities through all stages of the sales cycle using Supermicro’s CRM systems
- Maintain clear, timely, and professional communication with all stakeholders throughout the sales process
- Support operational aspects of deal execution
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and maintain CRM hygiene to reflect opportunity status and pipeline health
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or similar fields preferred
- 12+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably within the high-tech industry, with a focus on Enterprise solutions including servers, storage, software, and cloud solutions.
- Passionate for driving customer successes
- Experience tracking and reporting data on lead activity
- Successful experience selling technology into enterprise accounts
- Strong communication skills across multiple disciplines, cultures and geographies
- Track record of successful, credible cold calling and follow-up to executives and decision makers within an organization
- Good understanding of Larger Enterprise and Enterprise Data Center requirements
- Demonstrated ability in the following areas: pre-call planning, opportunity qualification and objection handling, call structure and control, time and territory management
- Experience entering, tracking, and reporting data on lead activity
- Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Proficient in English in speaking and writing; bilingual will be a plus
Salary Range
$159,000- $193,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
