Job Summary:

Supermicro is looking for a Principal Technologist in the technology enablement team to support the rapid business growth.  This role will require the candidate to have in-depth experience researching and evaluating the technology trends of IT hardware industry, ability to recommend the right product/solution to enterprise clients and influence C-level executives on technology direction to optimize business success. 

This role can be based either in the company’s Silicon Valley US headquarters or Taiwan based on business need and candidate profile.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Be the thought leader and technical evangelist for new and emerging technologies, especially hardware technologies in the broader IT space, to both internal communities and external customers, partners and analysts
  • Promote those new technologies to internal sales and technical audiences to ensure the significance and implications of the new hardware technologies are clearly understood  
  • Partner with business and sales teams in both internal and external meetings, serve as technical advisor and provide accountable recommendations to executives on technology direction and clients which lead to RFE and RFQ
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, lead and influence internal stakeholders to achieve results by meeting customer’s expectation in early engagements
  • Provide strategic and planning guidance for emerging hardware technologies to both internal and external clients to optimize business success
  • Collaborate closely with partners to understand the product roadmap and planning, and formulate ecosystem partnership to achieve business success
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline or business-related; Master’s degree will be a plus
  • 17 years of experience in the hardware industry, familiar with OEM or ODM business model in IoT/storage/server field
  • Superb soft skill – ability to work efficiently and effectively in group environment, and influence cross-functional team without having direct managerial authority
  • Strong problem-solving skill, ability to resolve complex issues with high level of ambiguity
  • Experience working with large cloud and enterprise customers with proven record of successful achievements
  • Great communicator. Positive attitude and upbeat personality a huge plus
