Job Summary:

Supermicro is actively seeking an Application Validation Engineer who will play an important role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our motherboard, server system, and related server component products. This position involves actively participating in the testing and validation processes of our cutting-edge products, meticulously designed with state-of-the-art technology. This role will be collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams, contributing significantly to the resolution of quality issues and the assurance that our products meet both engineering and customer specifications. This position will actively support Research and Development engineering activities, encompassing pre-and-post product release endeavors such as white-box design verification, BIOS/IPMI testing on board products, and system-level black-box testing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Comprehensive Validation Testing: Conduct thorough and rigorous validation testing for motherboards, server systems, and associated components to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and functionality
Testing Spectrum: Perform an array of tests, including functionality, compatibility, performance, stress, and reliability testing, adhering to established protocols and standards
Data Analysis and Documentation: Document test results and analyze test data, record findings and observations. Report hardware and software quality assurance issues using established bug tracking systems
Test Plan Development: Enhance and maintain validation test plans and test instructions, ensuring they reflect the most current testing strategies and methodologies
Test Automation: Contribute to the development of test utilities and automate test script procedures to streamline validation processes and increase efficiency
OS Support and Analysis: Offer adept driver/application analysis and support, leveraging comprehensive understanding and expertise in both Windows and Linux operating systems
Issue Resolution: Actively engage with internal and external stakeholders to address quality issues, driving resolution through systematic investigation and collaboration

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Computer Engineering (CE) from an accredited institution preferred
• Minimum of 2 years' hands-on experience as an Application Validation Engineer or in a related field, demonstrating expertise in server hardware validation and testing methodologies
• Possess a solid understanding of Server Hardware (CPU/MEM/PCIe/Storage) and Computer Architecture, along with a basic knowledge of Networking/TCPIP (preferred)
• Proficiency in Windows and Linux Operating Systems is essential for this role
• Experience in Server firmware development/validation is a plus (BIOS/BMC/CPLD/EEPROM)
• Experience in Hyper-scale, Data center and/or rack level validation/deployment/operation is a big plus
• Exhibit a strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of validation testing and documentation
• Basic programming skills would be advantageous for this position, although not mandatory. (Bash/PowerShell/Python)


Please note that this position requires regular in-office attendance. The successful candidate is expected to be present in the office during standard working hours as determined by the company. In-office collaboration and participation in team meetings, training sessions, and other on-site activities are essential aspects of this role. Candidates should consider the commuting distance and be prepared to fulfill their responsibilities in the designated office location.

Salary Range

$78,000 - $131,000 

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
