Job Summary:
Seeking a Chassis Product Engineer who can lead and manage Super Micro server chassis product development, review product design and specification, control product schedule, and ensure time-to-market product launch and on-time delivery. This individual will have the capability to work together with cross-functional team to enable and develop application-optimized, competitive server chassis products and drive Super Micro server chassis business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
• Lead the mechanical design of server chassis, ensuring structural integrity, thermal efficiency, and manufacturability.
• Manage the entire product development lifecycle, from concept through prototyping, testing, validation, and production release.
• Work closely with electrical engineers, thermal engineers, product managers, and manufacturing teams to integrate mechanical designs with overall product requirements.
• Conduct thermal simulations and mechanical stress analyses to ensure design robustness under operational conditions.
• Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source materials, components, and manufacturing processes that meet quality and cost targets.
• Prepare and maintain detailed design documentation, including CAD models, drawings, specifications, and test plans.
• Troubleshoot design issues during prototype and production phases, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality guidelines.
• Balance design performance with cost efficiency to achieve competitive and manufacturable products.
• Stay updated with the latest materials, technologies, and design methodologies to enhance product performance and reliability.
Qualifications:
• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Material Engineering, or other relevant engineering field preferred
• Minimum of 2 year system or mechanical engineering experience is desirable
• Experience in configuring computer systems
• Familiar with Windows Server and Linux operating systems
• Solid background in mechanical a must
• Experience in ProE, CAD design
• Good communication skills, including both written and verbal
Salary Range
$89,000 - $150,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
