Job Summary:

Super Micro Computer, Inc. is currently seeking a Cost Accountant to support our fast growing organization located in San Jose, CA. The Cost Accountant reports to the Cost Accounting Supervisor and is responsible for day to day cost accounting activities in accordance with Super Micro's established policies and procedures. The ideal candidate must have solid interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create/maintain inventory item and related BOMs in SAP and also monitor engineering location inventory

• Monitor material conversion from warehouse, production and RMA

• Analyze actual manufacturing costs, prepare periodic report comparing standard costs to actual production costs and maintain the standard cost system ensuring standards represent actual costs

• Prepare various cost accounting reports for presentation to the upper management for review

• Assist in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley section 404

• Support audit schedules and other related audit events

• Participate in other accounting projects as necessary


• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting with CMA/CPA a plus

• 1+ years of experience in high tech manufacturing industry preferred

• Knowledge of US GAAP especially cost accounting areas preferred

• Experience with major ERP software -- knowledge of SAP is highly preferred

• Experience in working cross functional teams in OEM/CM industry, ability to resolve issues through collaborating with other departments

• Demonstrated ability to perform complex financial analysis related to manufacturing activities

• Solid verbal and written communication skills

• Work effectively in a team environment, ability to complete assigned tasks within given time frame

• Proficient computer user with advance knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
