Job Summary:

This position works directly with multiple teams to support the development and implementation of a proactive Environmental Management System (EMS). This includes the creation, training, deployment, auditing, and maintenance of the global Supermicro EMS. Modify, update, and maintain records and documentation pertaining to site certification under ISO 14001. This position will be responsible for the maintenance of the EMS documentation.

The Environmental Compliance Manager will provide leadership in the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of company-wide QMS, EMS, and ISMS. Proactively monitors the various elements of the management system to help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and applicable national and international standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate EMS-related activities (e.g. internal and external audits, management review meetings), and projects across multiple teams and departments.
  • Responsible for development, implementation, maintenance, and auditing of EMS in compliance with ISO standards, environmental, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Oversight of ISO 14001 audits of the EMS, including documentation and addressing findings associated with training, recordkeeping, and monitoring and measurements (ISO 14001 4.5.1).
  • Develop audit plans, conduct / lead internal audits, prepare audit reports and communicate findings to internal stakeholders.
  • Drive closure of corrective and preventive actions to ensure implementation and effectiveness of change. 
  • Report environmental compliance incidents to regulatory authorities as needed and in coordination with related functions / departments.
  • Gather data, perform gap assessments and assist with the maintenance, tracking, reporting, and closure of identified gaps for the EMS.
  • Assist with the review and evaluation of environmental aspects of products, processes, and other activities to ensure conformance and compliance with ISO 14001 standards.
  • Assist in reviewing, updating, and publishing of procedures, work instructions, and forms to maintain compliance with international standards, regulatory and company-specific requirements, and for continuous improvement.
  • Plan and execute projects and complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in industrial management, business, IT, or equivalent field or work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience.
  • Hands-on experience in implementation and management of EMS in manufacturing, electronics, or high-tech industry with established EMS / QMS (ISO14001, ISO9001, or equivalent) Internal Audits, Training, Nonconformity, or Complaint Handling is preferred.
  • Proficient in Project and Program Management.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior communication skills. Must be able to communicate and articulate thoughts and ideas clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent presentation skills (articulate and persuasive); demonstrated good written and verbal skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build cross-functional teams and manage multi-tasked activities concurrently.
  • Lead ISO Auditor certification preferred.
  • Proficient in PC applications including Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.including CAPA,

Salary Range

$90,000 - $120,000 

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
