Job Summary:

Supermicro Computer, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented IT System Technician to manage the health and upkeep of our IDF/MDF rooms, ensuring our daily IT systems operate smoothly in an optimal environment. This role is crucial for maintaining the physical infrastructure that supports our network and data systems.

You will be responsible for routine inspections and maintenance of equipment, monitoring temperature and cleanliness, managing cables, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Additionally, you will handle the installation and setup of racks and enclosures, coordinate with IT planners for network growth, and maintain accurate documentation of the infrastructure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance and Upkeep

• Perform routine inspections of equipment in the IDF/MDF rooms.
• Perform routine inspection to keep the IDF/MDF rooms clear of junks
• Monitor temperature and cleanliness to ensure optimal hardware performance.
• Replace or repair faulty cables and patch panels
• Maintain cable management to avoid clutter and interference.
• Comply with safety and code standards (e.g., fire rating, grounding).

2. Installation & Setup

• Set up racks and enclosures to house the equipment.
• Ensure proper labeling and documentation of cables and ports 

3. Coordination & Planning

• Collaborate with architects or IT planners for network expansion.
• Plan for future capacity and upgrades to infrastructure.

4. Security & Compliance

• Ensure physical security of IDF and MDF rooms (e.g., access control).
• Comply with safety and code standards (e.g., fire rating, grounding).

5. Documentation

• Maintain accurate diagrams, labels, and inventory records for IDF/MDF layouts.
• Document changes to port mappings, cable routes, or equipment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of related experience
• Good and problem solving with great communication skills
• Knowledge of MS Office with good documentation skills
• Knowledge of IDF/MDF basic skill of installation and maintenance
• Physical fits to lift 2u-4u of servers
• Certification is plus with the below:
  • CompTIA Network+
  • BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Service International) Installer or technician
  • OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) 10/30 for safety

Salary Range

$77,000 - $95,000 

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
