Principal Enterprise AI Architect / Healthcare & Life Sciences

Date: Oct 5, 2026

Location: San Jose, California, United States

Company: Super Micro Computer

Job Req ID: 30436

About Supermicro:

Supermicro® is a Top Tier provider of advanced server, storage, and networking solutions for Data Center, Cloud Computing, Enterprise IT, Hadoop/ Big Data, Hyperscale, HPC and IoT/Embedded customers worldwide. We are the #5 fastest growing company among the Silicon Valley Top 50 technology firms. Our unprecedented global expansion has provided us with the opportunity to offer a large number of new positions to the technology community. We seek talented, passionate, and committed engineers, technologists, and business leaders to join us.

Job Summary:

This is a forward-deployed architecture role. You will work with the customer for discovery, workshops, and proofs of concept. You design the AI factory, stand the first system up with the customer’s team, and stay involved through production handoff. You will package the design so Supermicro can repeat and scale it across thousands of customers. You will work with Supermicro sales, factory engineering, and NVIDIA field architects.

Supermicro partners with NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel, and with leading storage and networking companies. Most work on these accounts is NVIDIA-based — HGX, NVL-class systems, and NVIDIA software. AMD, Intel, storage, and networking included when the customer’s standard requires it.

This position is located in San Jose, CA. Exceptional candidates elsewhere in the United States will be considered if candidate can travel extensively for customer deployments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Forward-deployed customer architecture
Embed with high-profile Life Sciences, Healthcare, or Financial Services accounts for discovery and design. Sit with scientists, risk, infrastructure, and security. Analyze the workload on their data and constraints. Produce the architecture and present it to executives and technical teams. Package departmental GPU and HPC nodes, HGX-class clusters, or rack-scale NVL systems, including networking, power, and liquid cooling.

  1. Workshop, POC, and production handoff
Run workshops from workload and data boundary to architecture, TCO, and operating model. Scope and run the proof of concept on Supermicro hardware, bring-up, workload, fail-closed tests. Write the production design Supermicro can build and ship. Bring in AI safety best practices when agents or sensitive data are in scope. Stay involved through first production handoff, then return the repeatable design to scale across similar customers.

  1. Enablement and field leadership
Document what worked at the account so the next deal in the vertical does not start from zero. Train sales and field engineers on how these accounts buy and deploy. Represent Supermicro with customers, partners, and at industry events in Life Sciences, Healthcare, or Financial Services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent. 12+ years as a solution architect, data center architect, or consultant, with production deployments you can point to.

  • Experience designing hybrid AI or HPC estates: private / on-prem plus public cloud and/or GPU cloud / neocloud.  Comfortable working on the customer floor: workshops, lab bring-up, and POC execution, not only remote design reviews.

  • Experience taking large GPU/HPC systems from first workshop to production, including networking and data center power and cooling. Working knowledge of NVIDIA data center GPU platforms and software. NVIDIA certification is desirable.

  • Working knowledge of AMD and Intel server platforms and of major storage and networking products. Experience with regulated data, on-premises inference, or scientific computing is strongly preferred. Ability to travel to customer sites for multi-day workshops and POCs.

Salary Range

$210,000 - $255,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
