Job Summary:

The ODM server team is seeking a talented Product Engineer to be part of a growing team that manages some of the highest visibility accounts at Supermicro.  The ideal PE candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience, can hit the ground running from day 1, and most importantly be a team player.  This individual should also be able to perform their day-to-day duties and support internal teams with product or process issues with minimal supervision.

This is an on-site position and will be based at Supermicro headquarters located in San Jose, CA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
• Work with system product managers to productize proof-of-concept systems based on customer specifications
• Manage server system bill-of-materials throughout the product lifecycle from NPI to product release, and then sustaining to EOL phases
• Work with internal and external labs to validate new hardware and firmware releases
• Troubleshoot system issues in lab and production
• Proactively engage in learning and researching new technologies and products 
• Able to lift 50+ lbs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with minimum of 2 years system engineering experiences in server products is strongly desirable, or equivalent industry experience is strongly preferred
• Working knowledge in server architecture and component ecosystem
• Hands on experience troubleshooting servers
• Working experience at datacenters is a plus
• Experience in configuring basic enterprise level OS is a plus
• Experience in scripting languages is a plus
• Experience working with sales & FAE account teams in a collaborative setting is a plus


Please note that this position requires regular in-office attendance. The successful candidate is expected to be present in the office during standard working hours as determined by the company. In-office collaboration and participation in team meetings, training sessions, and other on-site activities are essential aspects of this role. Candidates should consider the commuting distance and be prepared to fulfill their responsibilities in the designated office location.

Salary Range

$82,000 - $133,000 

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
