Job Summary:

As a global leader in server technologies, Supermicro has been growing extremely fast in many key markets such as Cloud Computing, Big Data, HPC, Storage, etc. To meet the market demand, Supermicro is developing end to end enterprise IT solutions with compute, storage, networking all integrated into full rack or multi-rack level systems. Solution Architect plays an important role in design, implementing, testing and deploying rack system solutions for data center and enterprise customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Drive innovative rack/cluster solutions on top of Supermicro hardware to meet market demands of hyper-converged, converged, software-defined data centers, best with customer-facing cloud services
• Create compelling marketing content including presentations, whitepapers and collateral to drive demand generation and sales pipeline
• Support of marketing staff and activities including: reviewing press releases, advertisements, newsletters, promotions, preparation for and the staffing of trade shows and conventions
• Demonstrate Supermicro solutions and products to customers on site, through remote webinars and in special events
• Provide Subject Matter Expertise in cloud and hybrid-cloud computing with state-of-the-art technologies; thereby becoming a trusted advisor to influential decision makers
• Provide end-to-end technical guidance and expertise on how to effectively use OpenShift as PaaS to build solutions; creatively applying cloud infrastructure and platform services to help solve business problems; and communicating these approaches to different business audiences in designated industries
• Represent and facilitate OpenShift solution architecture in discovery discussions with prospective clients, assess architecture needs for projects, work with development teams and designers to scope and craft proposals
• Work with clients and Red Hat teams to identify business problems and provide innovative solutions to them while evangelizing and accelerating the adoption of current and future technologies
• Manage problem identification, system architecture definition, software specification and design, implementation, testing, training and deployment of open source solutions
• Collaborate in developing positioning materials including use cases, technical value and competitive differentiation
• Work to harvest best practices and document lessons learned as part of continuous improvement of our offerings
• Ensure customer overall satisfaction, collaborate with internal engineering teams to resolve clients' issues or concerns in a timely manner

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science or equivalent applicable education and work experience. Master's degree is a plus
• Knowledge in server/storage/networking/distributed system architecture and technologies
• Familiar with Operating Systems including Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu Server and Microsoft Windows Server
• Familiar with SQL and NOSQL Databases
• Experience in project management
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation skills to internal and external, technical and executive audiences), ability to negotiate and influence in cross-functional groups

Preferred Qualifications
• 2-3 years relevant work experience, including but not limited to:
  - Cloud and Virtualization
    ○ Experience in container and container orchestration technologies (Docker and Kubernetes)
    ○ Strong OpenShift and OpenStack deployment and troubleshooting skills
    ○ Experience of SaaS, PaaS or IaaS solution building and implementation
    ○ Experience with AWS, GCP or Azure is a plus
    ○ Certified Cloud Architect or CCNP is a plus
    ○ Experience in Red Hat Virtualization, VMware ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V
  - Big Data and IoT: Experience in Cloudera/Hortonworks Data Platform and DataFlow
  - Artificial intelligence/Machine Learning: Experience of Deep Learning frameworks (TensorFlow, Pytorch or Caffe) is a plus
  - Software-Defined Storage: Experience in Ceph, Hadoop or Gluster
• Hands on programming and scripting skills
• Experience with configuration management software such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef
