Job Summary:

Supermicro is growing and we are recruiting for a Sr. Cost Accountant, who will report to the Cost Accounting Supervisor and is responsible for day to day cost accounting activities in accordance with the established policies and procedures. The ideal candidate must have in-depth knowledge on manufacturing cost, solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with internal departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Sr. Cost Accountants responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
• Participate in the month-end closing process by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations associated with inventory and cost of goods sold according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Analyze actual manufacturing costs, prepare periodic report comparing standard costs to actual production costs and maintain the standard cost system ensuring standards represent actual costs
• Perform product COGS, variances and margin analysis
• Prepare various cost accounting reports for presentation to the upper management
• Assist with compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley section 404
• Support audit schedules and other related audit events
• Participate in other accounting projects as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred; MBA or CMA/CPA is a plus
• 8+ years of related experience in high-tech or hardware manufacturing industry preferred
• Strong GAAP accounting and analytical skills
• Experience with major ERP software; Hands-on experiences with SAP is strongly desired
• Experience in interacting with cross functional teams in manufacturing industry is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to perform complex financial analysis related to manufacturing activities
• Solid oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Work effectively in a team environment
• Proficient computer skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Salary Range

$103,000- $138,000 

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
