Job Summary:

As a global leader in server technologies, Supermicro has been growing extremely fast in many key markets such as Cloud Computing, Big Data, HPC, Storage, etc. To meet the market demand, Supermicro is seeking a Sr. Director of Business Development who will report to the sales organization and work from our East Coast headquarters in the New York Metro area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Job included but not limited to:

  • Develop a clear strategy to identify and engage with incrementally new strategic customers, with an emphasis on Fortune-1000 and large datacenter opportunities.
  • Must have strong industry experience and strong industry relationships that can be leveraged to grow Supermicro market share.
  • Assist individual salespersons to successfully grow new accounts by guiding them through the initial engagement, account establishment, proof-of-concept, quotation and early production phases at incrementally new accounts.
  • Build C-Level relationships with customers that will increase Supermicro coverage within an account and also foster collaborative engagements on new Supermicro products and initiatives.
  • Measure and track all opportunities.  Report directly to the head of sales, with day-to-day dotted line reporting to the head of the East Coast office.
  • Performance will be measured by overall revenue and market share growth across all sales teams within the area of assignment.
  • Develop strong internal relationships with sales, marketing, engineering, service and operations that results in product and process improvements as well as efficient escalation paths for corrective action.

Qualifications:

  • Direct sales experience in Server / Storage / Enterprise / Cloud required
  • A minimum of 10+ years of progressively expanding marketing, business development, and/or direct sales experience.
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Track record of successful new customer engagements and sales / market share growth in previous assignments.
  • Must have deep industry relationships that can be leveraged to attract incrementally new customers.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills are required in order to communicate effectively with customers and also with internal organizations.

Salary Range

$160,000 - $270,000 

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
