Job Summary:

Supermicro – a global leader in high performance, high efficiency Server and Storage technology and green computing, is looking for a Sr. Business Development Director to join its established and growing production team. The ideal candidate should bring deep manufacturing industry knowledge, thought leadership and passion to help reach a broader target of customer base for our growing manufacturing capacity and global footprint.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evangelize a coherent, end-to-end manufacturing strategy spanning from sheet metal, PCBA to plug-n-play, ready to deploy rack level total solution to prospect customers and play a critical role in the company’s business vision and strategy
  • Ambitious, entrepreneurial approach to drive a coordinated strategy to grow the manufacturing business
  • Ability to indirectly lead and influence cross-functional team, drive the operation and business excellence through collaboration
  • Outstanding executive presence and presentation skills, with the ability to inspire and engage with business executives at target customers
  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 17 years’ experience in server hardware, manufacturing operation, or other related field
  • Understanding of manufacturing and quality improvement tools: WIP, JIT, Kanban, APQP, TOM, VSM, RCA, 5S, P/L system and program
  • Ability to develop, implement and execute business strategies.  Accountability for achieving business goals. Comfortable to interact and communicate with all levels of staffs and clients
  • Prior work experience in the manufacturing industry within the scope business unit director, manager, or similar roles
  • Proven track record of business accomplishments. Result-driven and goal-oriented individual comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment   
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline or business, or with equivalent working experience

Preferred Qualification

  • Master’s degree in engineering discipline, business, or other advanced degrees
  • Superb communication in both verbal and written, with strong presentation skill to large audience
  • Strong business acumen – ability to influence customers’ decision and lead to business win
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally for business inquiries
