Job Summary:

Supermicro is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Analyst, Export Compliance to support the company’s global trade compliance program. This role will play a critical part in ensuring compliance with U.S. and international export regulations while contributing to the efficient and secure movement of goods, technology, and software worldwide. As a senior member of the compliance team, the Senior Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams, assist in regulatory analysis, and help maintain a robust compliance infrastructure to support Supermicro's global operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Regulatory Analysis & Compliance:

  • Interpret and apply U.S. and international trade regulations, including EAR, OFAC sanctions, and anti-boycott laws, to support business activities.
  • Assist in the classification of products, technology, and software under the EAR and other applicable regulations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with dual-use and export control requirements.
  • Conduct restricted party screenings for customers, vendors, and transactions, investigating and resolving any flagged results.
  • Support the preparation and submission of export licenses and other regulatory filings, monitoring the status and ensuring timely renewals.

Risk Assessment & Process Management:

  • Participate in the development and implementation of risk assessment processes to identify and mitigate export compliance risks.
  • Conduct audits of export transactions and processes, identifying gaps, proposing corrective actions, and implementing improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance ERP and other systems, ensuring proper integration of export compliance controls.
  • Maintain detailed records of export transactions in line with regulatory and internal requirements.

Training & Documentation:

  • Assist in creating and delivering training materials on export compliance topics, tailored to various business functions and audiences.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of compliance policies, procedures, and manuals, ensuring alignment with evolving regulations.

Cross-Functional Support:

  • Work closely with supply chain, logistics, legal, and business units to provide guidance on compliance requirements and ensure adherence to export policies.
  • Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other external partners to address export-related issues and support timely resolution.
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries related to trade compliance, providing accurate and actionable guidance.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay informed on changes in global trade regulations, including U.S., EU, and Asia-specific updates, and assess potential impacts on company operations.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance compliance processes through automation, technology, and best practices.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in international business, law, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in export compliance, with a focus on U.S. and international trade regulations.
    • Familiarity with EAR, OFAC, and export license management.
    • Experience working in technology, semiconductor, or a related industry is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them to business scenarios.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and compliance tools for restricted party screening and classification.
    • Excellent organizational skills, with a high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Effective communication skills, capable of explaining regulatory concepts to non-expert audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in export compliance (e.g., CUSECO, EXIM) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with data analytics tools to identify trends and compliance risks.
  • Knowledge of dual-use export controls and emerging technology regulations.

Salary Range

$115,000 - $132,000 

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
