Why This Role Matters:
Supermicro is seeking a dynamic Senior Field Application Engineer (FAE) with experience in selling high-performance computing (HPC) and data center solutions. As a key technical advisor, you will engage with Fortune 1000 customers, helping them design, deploy, and optimize advanced IT infrastructure. You will play a critical role in driving business growth by providing expert technical guidance, ensuring seamless solution integration, and fostering long-term customer relationships.
What You'll Do:
- Serving as a trusted technical advisor to customers, from engineers to C-level executives.
- Design and architect cutting-edge HPC and data center solutions tailored to customer needs.
- Collaborating closely with sales and extended teams to map end-user requirements to optimal technical solutions.
- Driving pre-sales technical discussions, proof-of-concepts (PoCs), and solution demonstrations.
- Providing hands-on technical leadership during system integration, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Diagnosing complex system architecture challenges, including hardware/software interactions and performance optimizations.
- Managing product hardware and software engineering teams to ensure successful deployment and customer satisfaction.
- Developing and delivering compelling technical presentations and bid responses.
- Ensuring a seamless customer experience through proactive engagement and problem resolution.
- Traveling up to 25% for on-site customer visits, solution integration, and technical support.
What You'll Bring:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in compute/storage server, data center, or IT infrastructure solutions.
- Technical Expertise:
- Deep understanding of x86-based server architectures, including CPU, GPU, and accelerator technologies.
- Solid background in system design, debugging, and diagnostics.
- Proficiency in firmware, drivers, OS (Linux, Windows), and virtualization platforms.
- Knowledge of networking, storage, and cloud computing is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong customer-facing and communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive problem resolution.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Please note that this position requires regular in-office attendance. The successful candidate is expected to be present in the office during standard working hours as determined by the company. In-office collaboration and participation in team meetings, training sessions, and other on-site activities are essential aspects of this role. The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
