Job Summary:

The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Sr. Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis. This position's primary role is responsible timely, relevant and accurate reporting & analysis for assigned departments’ spending performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and strategic plan. This individual has the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Great interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to meet deadlines, ability to follow procedures accurately, strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support Financial Planning Group:
    • Prepare AOP, forecasts and reporting for assigned areas
    • Maintain Department Spending model to ensure it ties to reported actuals and is updated in a timely manner
    • Distribute detailed and summary department spending results in timely manner
    • Responsible for timely, relevant and accurate reporting & analysis for assigned departments’ spending performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and strategic plan.
    • Research and resolve department inquiries (including accounting transactions) for assigned functional areas
    • Provide guidance to develop the company’s overall business planning process and monthly rolling financial forecasts, and supporting management to provide informed assumptions in a timely manner to meet critical reporting deadlines
       
  • Play an active role in company-wide P&L performance:
    • Position will focus on R&D department budgets, but may include supporting other functional areas 
    • Partner with R&D leadership to understand team strategies, product attributes and development timelines to build financial models and analyses
    • Develop strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in finance and across the R&D organization
    • Partner closely with R&D Management to offer decision support and thought leadership to R&D team
    • Use scenario based modeling to identify opportunities / risks and drive effective decision making and its’ impact to net income
       
  • Support for ad-hoc projects as requested
     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent required
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience in Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis, Cost Management or equivalent roles; demonstrated proficiency with concepts, practices, and procedures of financial planning & analysis
  • Effective Communication Skills (Written & Verbal)
  • Ability to work with all levels of Management
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP
  • Ability to succeed in a team environment
  • Customer Service Oriented
  • Understanding of accounting processes, procedure and internal controls
  • Strong research and analysis skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to generate bold, creative ideas to improve performance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SAP experience would be helpful
  • Excellent financial modeling experience required
