Supermicro is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst eager to join the FP&A team focusing on budgeting, reporting and financial systems and tools support. In this position, you will partner with Operations leaders to forecast and report department expenses and other costs of goods sold. Additionally, you will have an opportunity to support BI and reporting tools (great opportunity if you like tinkering with systems and tools). Your contributions will facilitate decision-making to achieve budget and strategic objectives. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, ability to meet deadlines and strong attention to detail are key. This position will report to the Director of FP&A.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use solid financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models, interpret data, draw conclusions and make recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements and influence leaders throughout SMC.
- Delivers monthly/quarterly financial close and analysis. Uses financial systems and advanced MS Excel functions to work with large data sets.
- Owns forecast process for R&D and Operations: meet and collect data from business leaders, input into Workday Adaptive Planning, reporting and the analysis/story driving the numbers.
- Creates effective business partnerships, manages competing priorities and provides guidance based on data analysis. Uses active listening skills intuitively to communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise and unambiguous manner. Adjust style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues clearly.
- Collect and analyze quantitative data to develop relevant reports and actionable results.
- Investigate existing end-to-end processes, such a material spending, stakeholder roles and identify opportunities to improve the forecast process.
- Contributes to work life harmony by being positive, collaborative and an effective influencer with team members resulting in operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- “Doer” with a natural sense of curiosity
- BA/BS Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent
- Team player and ability to adapt quickly to change
- Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in Financial Planning and Analysis, Cost Management or equivalent roles; demonstrated proficiency with concepts, practices, and procedures of financial planning & analysis
- Strong communication and active listening skills across various business functions and levels of leadership
- Solid understanding of US GAAP
- Ability to generate bold, creative ideas to improve performance and processes
- Mastery of Excel
- Business Objects BI, Workday Adaptive Planning, SAP knowledge a plus

Salary Range: $116,000 - $190,000
