Job Summary:
As a global leader in networking solution innovation, Super Micro Computer's mission is to develop and provide the market with end-to end computing solution and high performance networking products. We have an immediate need for a Sr. Hardware Design Engineer to join our talented and bright design team. The candidate will play a key role in the development process of in-house server motherboards, by working collaboratively with cross-functional engineering team as well as outside partners to ensure the robust design of the boards. The candidate must be self-motivated and possess a strong will to do great things, with a result-driven mindset to develop the most competitive and endurance board products
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
• Manage complex GPU computing solutions based on Supermicro server hardware to deliver leading edge systems to the market
• Understand design requirements, and work with internal engineering teams to define and provide a solution that meets all expectations and on schedule. Working effectively with various internal cross functional teams is fundamental to this role
• Optimize hardware system designs, with focus on PCIe, NVLink, power delivery, thermals and networking.
• Work closely with mechanical and liquid cooling experts to provide complete solution at the rack and cluster level
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred
• Minimum 8 years of experience in hardware/system architecture, with a focus on GPU-accelerated systems.
• Deep knowledge of GPU system hardware design, power delivery, high-speed I/O (PCIe, CXL, NVLink), networking and thermal management.
• Solid understanding of mechanical and thermal design constraints in dense form factors
• Familiarity with Firmware, Linux, Windows, and virtualization platforms
• Knowledge and familiarity with mechanical and liquid cooling technologies will be an added advantage
• Good communication skills and serve as a reliable and trusted technical advisor
• Strong leadership – indirectly manage multi-functional teams with high efficiency, able to resolve complex issues and deliver result under pressure and stringent deadlines
Salary Range
$160,000 - $190,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
