Job Summary:

High-performance product team in Supermicro is seeking talented Senior System Product Engineer who can lead the technical collateral development of in-house server system products. This individual will have the opportunity to define and implement latest data center and server technologies, and to create proof of concepts and technical feature paper presentations to differentiate Supermicro product through online and at various industry events. This individual will also be the go-to person for product managers and system engineers to be the subject of matter expert in application benchmarks specifically in network, database, and virtualization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose root causes of system failures and isolate faulty components or nodes to facilitate swift resolution.
  • Provide on-demand technical support during critical failure events, employing expertise to develop immediate remedies for catastrophic system issues.
  • Develop, publish, and present comprehensive test reports, effectively communicating insights and findings to team members and stakeholders.
  • Design and implement basic scripts to automate system validation tests, enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with Supermicro's Sales teams, Field Engineers, and Product Managers to articulate and refine product requirements based on market needs.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams encompassing Engineering, Component Management, Sales, and IT to drive projects aligned with Supermicro’s strategic goals.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in server technology, cloud computing, and high-performance computing to inform product development and innovation.

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in server or computer architecture environments, with a strong foundation in high-performance computing systems.
  • In-depth understanding of GPU technologies, including leading offerings from Nvidia (e.g., Tesla) and AMD, and their applications in server environments.
  • Familiarity with server and storage system architecture, including experience with performance optimization for various workloads.
  • Proficient in both Windows Server and Linux operating systems (such as Ubuntu and Red Hat) and experience with system-level programming.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong initiative and proven ability to work independently in a self-directed environment, taking ownership of projects from concept to execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively within cross-functional teams, fostering a positive and productive working atmosphere.

Salary Range

$140,000 - $158,000 

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
