Job Summary:
Supermicro seeks a Staff Data Center Construction Manager to direct large-scale data center projects from conception to commissioning. The role manages construction schedules, budgets, and vendors, ensuring timely and quality delivery, and coordinates among teams and contractors to meet technical and business objectives efficiently and safely.
The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in complex data center construction, strong knowledge of mission-critical MEP and structural systems, and proactive risk management skills. Excellent communication, effective contractor leadership, and a focus on fast, large-scale project delivery are essential.

- Manage all stages of data center construction, from planning to turnover.
- Create and update project schedules using critical path methods with input from all stakeholders.
- Set and monitor budgets, track expenses, and prepare financial reports.
- Supervise contractors to ensure safe, timely, and compliant work.
- Act as the main on-site contact, coordinating communication between teams.
- Review and approve contractor documents and payments.
- Run weekly meetings, identify risks, and develop risk mitigation plans.
- Collaborate with design and engineering to ensure constructability and field alignment.
- Oversee vendors and suppliers for contracts, logistics, and procurement.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, permits, and regulations.
- Work with commissioning teams for smooth construction handover and IST.
- Keep accurate project records and progress tracking.
- Capture lessons learned to improve future builds.
- Provide executive-level updates on schedule, budget, and major issues at project sites.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with global teams to unify project delivery methods.
- Assist in preparing bid documents and contractor criteria for upcoming projects.
- Help develop scalable design and modular construction standards.
- Liaise with stakeholders to fast-track permits and approvals.
- Oversee site inspections and quality control for compliance.
- Guide engineers and assistant managers on major builds.
Qualifications:
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years managing large construction projects, including 5+ in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
- Proven success leading contractors and suppliers to deliver safe, timely, and on-budget results.
- Strong knowledge of base building and MEP systems (electrical, cooling, fire protection, controls, structure).
- Skilled in scheduling with Primavera P6, Procore, or Microsoft Project.
- Advanced budget management and cost forecasting; experienced in change order negotiations.
- Familiar with commissioning, IST, and operational turnover for critical systems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management.
- Able to manage multiple projects in fast-paced settings.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities; proactive with risk and issue resolution.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business.
- Experience with hyperscale, colocation, or modular data centers.
- Knowledge of international codes, permitting, and environmental compliance.
- Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, or Autodesk ACC software.
- Background in lean principles, design-build, or modular projects.
- Managed cross-functional teams in complex organizations.
- Leadership in project execution with technical, cost, and schedule balance.
Salary Range
$170,000 - $190,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
