Job Summary:

As a Staff Data Center Software Developer on the Supermicro DCBBS Datacenter team, you will design and build end-to-end applications for DataCenter Systems, including the web UI that customers and internal teams rely on to monitor and manage their datacenter deployments. You will work across the full stack — from dashboard and interface design through backend services, APIs, and databases — to deliver secure, scalable, customer-facing platforms, and serve as a senior technical voice on the team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• End-to-End Application Development: Design and build end-to-end applications for DataCenter Systems, owning features from web UI through backend services and data storage. Work across React (frontend), Python/Flask or FastAPI (backend), and SQL/NoSQL databases to deliver secure, scalable platforms.

• Web UI & Dashboard Design: Design and build web-based dashboards for monitoring and managing data center customers and their systems, translating complex operational and telemetry data into clear, usable interfaces for both customers and internal teams.

• API Design & Integration: Design RESTful APIs and microservices to support customer-facing dashboards, infrastructure provisioning, telemetry ingestion, and automation workflows. Integrate with internal platforms and third-party services as needed.

• Database Engineering: Develop schema, queries, and optimization routines across SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases to support application features, customer data models, and analytics pipelines.

• Cloud Platform Deployment: Deploy applications to public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) or private Kubernetes platforms using Docker and Helm. Collaborate with DevOps to ensure reliable, reproducible, and observable deployments.

• Technical Leadership: Set technical direction and best practices for full-stack development within the DCBBS Datacenter team, mentor other engineers, and drive architectural decisions for customer-facing and internal applications.

• Monitoring & Observability: Implement logging, alerting, and monitoring (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Loki) within the app stack to track performance, detect anomalies, and support operational uptime for customer-facing systems.

• Security & Access Control: Implement secure authentication and access patterns using OAuth2, SSO, and RBAC. Collaborate with InfoSec to ensure customer-facing applications meet internal compliance requirements.

• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Write and maintain detailed technical documentation, API references, and design guidelines to support team collaboration and onboarding.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

• 12+ years of full-stack development experience, including production web UI/dashboard design and delivery

• Strong skills in React (or similar modern frontend framework) and a UI/UX sensibility for designing clear, usable dashboards

• Strong backend skills in Python (Flask or FastAPI)

• Strong database design experience with SQL and/or MongoDB

• Experience building and deploying applications in cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, or private cloud)

• Proficiency with Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL/CentOS), containers (Docker, Podman), and orchestration (Kubernetes)

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and container-based deployment (Docker)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing customer-facing dashboards or portals for infrastructure, IT operations, or monitoring platforms

• Experience developing with coding agents

• Experience with Ansible or other infrastructure-as-code tools

• Experience with Machine Learning APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face, Vertex AI)

• Prior experience mentoring engineers or leading technical design for a full-stack team

• Experience integrating with SDN/network automation platforms (SONiC, Cumulus, Arista CloudVision, Cisco NSO)

• Familiarity with datacenter or hardware/infrastructure domains

Salary Range

$215,000 - $245,000 

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
