Job Summary:

Super Micro is looking for a System Debug Engineer who will develop debugging tools in server system to support customer and other internal departments for solving server system issues. Work closely with other departments to provide solution for the issues and product quality improvement as well. Proficient in Intel low level debugging experience using Intel Target Probe (ITP) tool is a must.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose the root cause of computer system failures and isolate the components/failure nodes
  • Respond on an as-needed basis to emergencies and provide remedy for catastrophic failure events
  • Interface with RD, System teams, and customer support to improve Supermicro products quality.
  • Use Intel ITP tools and python scripting to develop debug tools for server system to support RD team and resolve customer’s issue.
  • Improve testing techniques / procedures for analyzing system failure data efficiently


  • BS in Electrical Engineer or Computer Engineering with minimum of 3+ years of experience in related industry.
  • 3+ years of C, C++ and Python programming languages
  • Must experience with Intel CPUs and Chipset  architecture
  • Must solid skills in Intel debug tools such as ITP
  • Must proficient in Linux and Windows OS
  • Familiarity with key PC bus protocols (PCIe) will be an added advantage
  • Strong lab and debug skills are required, including experience working with and analyzing output from test equipment such as the ITP, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzer
