Job Summary:

Supermicro Computer is looking for an experienced System Engineer to join the System Product Management team to support Supermicro’s VMware solutions. This individual must have a deep understanding of VMware ESXi, VMware vSAN and related technologies to be able to engage in technical, product development, and pre/post-sales support activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):

  • Supporting customer inquiries which include hardware configurations, compatibility, and software licensing
  • Troubleshooting and resolving VMware related customer issues
  • Working with Engineering teams on managing hardware certifications
  • Providing technical trainings and support documentation to related staff
  • Keeping informed of developments in VMware technologies and products

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Programming, or similar
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a VMware engineer
  • Proficiency in VMware associated programs and coding languages, such as Windows Server, MS IIS, SAN architecture, WebSphere, Citrix, Python, and C++
  • Extensive knowledge of the fundamentals of VMware ESXi and related technologies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Exceptional analytical and technical aptitude
  • Great organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills

  • Able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Able to input data into a computer and work with a computer screen for long periods of time.
  • Occasional bending and standing.
  • Standing, walking, sitting, talking/listening, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms.
  • Lift, carry, push and pull up to 15 pounds.
