Job Summary:

Supermicro is seeking a Staff Product Manager who can lead the development and integration of server/workstation system products for cloud and data center infrastructure. This is a key product management role focused on server/storage product solutions where communication among remote teams and on-site product leadership for our development teams is critical to develop and enable operations to fulfill roadmap expectation. In addition to developing new top-of-the-line systems, product manager is expected to collaborate with marketing and sales departments to promote products and interact with customers directly to sell these products. As a product manager, you will use strong technical and communication skills towards product definition strategy for Supermicro's core product family including research into vertical-based customer solutions and creation of aggressive go-to market plan. Ultimately, Product Manager will become a core member of the server product management team and engage in technical, product development, marketing, and pre/post-sales support activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Product Roadmap Development: Lead the creation and refinement of the product roadmap for Supermicro’s server and workstation systems, ensuring alignment with market demands and technological advancements.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with marketing, engineering, and business development teams to craft and deliver comprehensive server solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.

  • Technical Requirements Creation: Utilize a solid technical background to establish detailed product specifications for cloud and data center infrastructure solutions. This involves researching customer needs, analyzing industry trends, and understanding business priorities to inform strategy.

  • Customer Engagement: Actively engage with stakeholders, including senior executives, technical teams, and product marketing, through presentations and discussions to communicate Supermicro’s vision, product capabilities, and address customer challenges effectively.

  • Issue Escalation Management: Identify critical product issues and collaborate with upper management and vendors to escalate and resolve concerns, ensuring customer satisfaction and product performance.

  • Training and Development: Design and deliver comprehensive training programs for internal teams, sales personnel, and customers to elevate product knowledge and enhance service efficacy.

  • Customer Support Oversight: Provide third-level support to both internal staff and external customers, addressing complex inquiries and ensuring timely resolution of challenges related to product usage and deployment.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering is required.

  • Experience: A minimum of 12 years of hands-on experience in system/server architecture with a proven background in product management or product marketing, including the successful management of products through their entire lifecycle — from concept through development to end-of-life.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge and understanding of computer architecture, server technologies, and data center operations, with prior experience in high-performance computing environments.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities are essential. The candidate must be adept at presenting complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, facilitating productive discussions, and receiving constructive feedback.

  • Analytical Skills: Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong ability to interpret complex data, trends, and customer feedback to inform product decisions.

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with virtualization, cloud computing technologies, and Supermicro’s product suite is preferred, along with experience using customer relationship management (CRM) tools.


Please note that this position requires regular in-office attendance. The successful candidate is expected to be present in the office during standard working hours as determined by the company. In-office collaboration and participation in team meetings, training sessions, and other on-site activities are essential aspects of this role. Candidates should consider the commuting distance and be prepared to fulfill their responsibilities in the designated office location.

Salary Range

$185,000 - $210,000 

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
