Job Summary:
Super Micro Computer, Inc. is currently seeking a Tax Manager focus on States & Local taxes. This position will in charge of Sales Use tax compliance, audits, and lead a sales tax team prepare various states income tax apportionments, states adjustments, and oversees various US states local tax reporting, planning, compliance functions. The ideal candidate will report directly to the Senior Tax Director. The candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. It is a highly visible role in the organization, and a core member to the tax team. This position will be a member of the Finance team in the company’s headquarters located in San Jose, CA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Review and prepare 40+ states Sales Use tax returns in Vertex, apply sales tax exemption certificates to sales orders
• Make prompt reply to daily sales use tax questions by email or call from various departments, and provide sales use tax guidance to internal interest parties
• Responsible for 15+ state income tax returns (including estimates and extensions) to ensure all reporting obligations are filed accurately and timely
• Coordinate AP team to make accurate timely online payments and supervise tax payable reconciliation with tax returns filed
• Coordinate IT and Vertex to realize sales tax process improvements
• In charge of R&D credit study, manage 3rd party advisor to gather information and conduct annual R&D study, prepare R&D tax reporting
• Manage sales use tax audits, and property tax audits
• Respond to states local tax notices
• Mentor and coaching tax staff on states and local tax
• Assist in other tax projects and initiatives
Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance and related field, MST are preferred
- CPA certification or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 7 years of tax experience with public accounting and industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of management
- Solid excel skills

Salary Range: $128,000 - $171,000
