Job Summary:

Supermicro is looking for a MB Testing Technician to perform testing of defective products, identify needed repairs, and ensures quality control for commercial standards and customer needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform In-depth Incoming Quality Control (IQC): Conduct thorough visual inspections and functional testing on a diverse range of incoming Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs), including critical components such as motherboards, backplanes, riser cards, and Add-on Cards (AOCs), to ensure adherence to stringent quality specifications.
  2. Execute Engineering Change Order (ECO) Implementations: Precisely carry out ECO upgrades and modifications on all in-stock PCBAs, strictly following ECO documentation and engineering instructions to maintain product integrity and performance.
  3. Diagnose and Troubleshoot PCBA Failures: Utilize advanced testing equipment and diagnostic tools to identify root causes of failures in motherboards, backplanes, and other PCBAs, implementing effective solutions to resolve issues efficiently.
  4. Maintain and Calibrate Test Equipment: Regularly perform maintenance, calibration, and verification of test fixtures, diagnostic tools, and laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy, reliability, and optimal performance for all testing procedures.
  5. Document and Analyze Test Data: Meticulously collect, record, and analyze inspection and test data, prepare detailed reports on findings, trends, and corrective actions to contribute to continuous quality improvement and process optimization.
  6. Collaborate with Engineering and Production Teams: Work closely with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Production teams to provide critical feedback on product performance, assist in design validation, and support the resolution of technical issues throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  1. Possess a minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in computer manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, or Incoming Quality Control (IQC) for computer materials inspection.
  2. Hold a diploma or higher in an Engineering disciplineMathematicsComputer ScienceBusiness, or Management, providing a strong theoretical foundation for technical and operational tasks. 
  3. Demonstrated ability to interpret and work with technical documentation, including schematics, assembly drawings, and test procedures.
  4. Proficient in PCBA testing methodologies, including functional testing, boundary scan testing, and in-circuit testing (ICT) for motherboards, backplanes, and other PCBAs.
  5. Experience with diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and specialized PCBA diagnostic software.
  6. Ability to collect, organize, and analyze test data, utilizing tools like Microsoft Excel or statistical software.
  7. Strong ability to identify various electronic components (e.g., ICs, resistors, capacitors, connectors) and their functions.
  8. Basic understanding of firmware flashing and software installation processes for motherboard components.
  9. Basic to intermediate soldering and rework skills for component replacement and repair on PCBAs are highly advantageous.
